Yume is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist. Seeking to create and collaborate on multimedia projects that disrupt and interrogate traditional media standards, she weaves through video, photography, and digital image-making as avenues for expression in order to produce immersive and intimate reflections of digital and/or local communities that contend with gender, identity, and home through a Black diasporic lens. Much of her work centers her loved ones.

A recent graduate of Vassar College, Yume completed her undergraduate studies in 2020 with a B.A. in Media Studies—concentrating on the relationship between globalization & race—and a correlate in Film Studies. Her time at Vassar also spanned the globe, studying abroad at Ochanomizu University in Tokyo, Japan and later, Goldsmiths, University of London in England. She now resides in the greater New York metropolitan area where she continues to contemplate what exactly home means to her.
