The Purpose

The purpose of the Access_&Design Program is to  identify and support emerging underinvested Black, Latinx, and Indigenous Designers with a passion to make positive change within their communities as well as the creative industry.

History

In 2018, the Design + Diversity Fellowship was founded with the belief that providing access to resources, mentorship and opportunities is essential to creating equitable outcomes for historically underinvested emerging Designers.

Past fellows include Social Entrepreneurs, Researchers, Architects, Animators, Product Designers, UX Writers and more—all using their craft to address the social ills within their national and international communities.

The Access_&Design Fellowship Program would not have been possible without partners like Adobe, Microsoft and Google, who collectively have helped us invest over $250,000 into D+D Fellows by providing technology, professional mentorship, conference attendance and more.

We want to do more. The Access_&Design Fellowship Program will continue this work to address the high cost of entry into Design, while also creating conduits of change, specifically with Black, Latinx and Indigenous Designers.
