Melissa Regalado is a Latinx designer born in Lima, Peru and now based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Melissa considers herself to be a product designer but believes "creative strategist" fully encompasses who she is as a creative problem-solver. As a first-generation college student, she hopes to make education more accessible to underrepresented & marginalized students. She recognizes that not everyone has the opportunity or resources to go to college. Therefore she sees value in creating open-source projects and tools as a conduit for sharing knowledge and empowering communities.
Melissa is currently building Plot Twisters, an education platform that encourages reflection as the core component of a student's journey through various digital tools. In the future, she sees herself growing as a designer with her Plot Twisters team to build a platform that will allow not just students, but anyone to recognize the value of reflecting on our journeys and how patterns in our life can be utilized to make decisions for the future.
